Why can’t a student see their modules in Moodle?

Quick answer
Either the Moodle page(s) are not visible to students, or there is an enrollment issue.

Full answer
If students appear to be enrolled on modules in the student portal, but can’t see the pages in Moodle, there are a few possible reasons:

  1. They may have just added additional modules in SITS. Moodle can take up to 24 hours to update following a change in SITS.
  2. The Moodle page may not be visible to students. Make sure that you have changed the visibility of your site from “Hide” (default) to “Show”, when you are ready to release your course content.

Linking student cohorts to specific Moodle sites is largely a manual task, so if you do not believe the above solutions are relevant, please email baldigital@port.ac.uk and we will look into this for you.

If a student does not appear to be enrolled on modules in their student portal, they have either not completed registration, or there is a cohort issue with SITS. Please direct them to DSAA (the Myport Hubs) to assist with this.
