BaL Digital exists to promote an effective, inclusive and engaging digital learning experience for BaL staff and students, and to support the implementation of the University’s Digital Success Plan for Learning and Teaching. As a key part of this, our aim is to help staff develop their own skills, in order to facilitate their ongoing teaching practice.
What does BaL Digital do?
- BaL Digital exists to promote an effective, inclusive and engaging digital learning experience for BaL staff and students.
- Our team offers an online curriculum development service to empower academic teams to make a difference to students’ learning through innovative teaching.
- As a key part of this, our aim is to help staff develop their own skills, in order to facilitate their ongoing teaching practice.
What you can expect from us
- Staff and student training in the use of learning technologies. This includes (but is not limited to) tools such as Padlet, Vevox, Nearpod, H5P, Panopto, and Moodle.
- The ability to work alongside staff on specific projects, to design and develop digital course material (or whole courses).
- Support the creation of videos for learning and teaching purposes.
- Support with designing and enhancing Moodle sites to help enhance the student and staff user experience.
- Management and administration of the virtual learning environment (Moodle) for the faculty
- Support academic colleagues with the creation and use of assessments.
- Supporting faculty learning and teaching activities and events, wherever possible.
All teaching staff are able to create and manage their own online assessments (e.g., dropboxes and quizzes). Wherever possible, staff will create their own assessment artefacts, as ownership of assessments sits with course teams. However, if required, BaL Digital can provide support with this.
